| Where do I start looking for a job? |
Before you start looking for a job, you should look at the Working in the UK website to check your eligibility to work in the UK.
If you are eligible to work in the UK, a good place to start looking for work is the Recruitment & Employment Confederation website, which has contact details for private recruitment companies across the country. |
| Can I work in the UK? |
The first and foremost step is checking whether you are eligible to work in the UK. Working in the UK provides information about employment requirements, schemes, procedures and issues. Do I Need A UK Visa? Can tell you specifically about visas and how to apply for one. If you have already found work in the UK, your employer may also require a work permit for you.
If you have not already found a job in the UK but are eligible to do so, Jobcentre Plus which is part of the School ofWorks and Pensions, may be able to help.
Once you are working in the UK you will then be eligible for employment contributions, to understand about these you should contact the Inland Revenue. European citizens can also access more information about living in the UK from EURES - European Employment Services. |
