Computer course at LondonSAM
School of Computing & Technology
Computer engineers have a tremendous opportunity to make a difference in a future where billions of computing devices will interact with people, the environment and each other to help us live, work, learn and play.

LondonSAM has a strong emphasis on collaboration both with other departments in the university and with leading organisations world-wide. The department is an international centre of excellence in Computer Science and we pride ourselves on the quality of our graduates. Innovative teaching and pioneering research characterise the School of Information Technology at LondonSAM. Every member of our academic staff is an active researcher.
LondonSAM has high-quality computer training tools for students wishing to learn how to Build, Maintain and Repair a computer at their own pace, in the home or office environment, as well as tutor-led PC basic hardware training and repair products for schools, companies and correctional and vocational training facilities.
In the last year or so, the basic computer hardware training courses have been upgraded to satisfy a growing demand for easy-to-use, basic hardware courses suitable for training novices from grade 8 and up in the basics of PC hardware maintenance, repair and software installation.

We believe strongly in computing as a practical subject, and aim to develop students with strong skills in systems design and programming.

We adopt a research-led approach to our teaching whereby courses are continuously upgraded to reflect recent developments in the subject; students also get the chance to work with research teams on project work.
Our courses are shaped by our research strengths with emphasis on key research areas such as communications and distributed systems, software systems engineering and HCI. We emphasise the fundamental principles underpinning contemporary computer systems.

Students will gain practical, transferable skills necessary for working within team-based, professional environments. As well as being innovative in research, we also believe in being innovative in our teaching.
