Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)

Unlike some organisations, ACCA provide opportunities based on ability and application. ACCA don't put up artificial barriers. Instead we provide routes into the profession for everyone, regardless of location or qualification. For ACCA, it's the outcome that counts.

  • School leaver?
  • Graduate?
  • Already in work?

ACCA have the right starting point for you.

When you finish school or college, further study might be the last thing on your mind – but it is the perfect time to start your career as a finance professional!

ACCA can offer you two simple routes to gaining professional status and getting the "ACCA" letters after your name:

18? This is the minimum age for the ACCA Qualification – your route to professional status. All you need is two A Levels and three GCSEs (or equivalent) in five separate subjects, including English and Maths. Your future in finance and accounting could begin now.

As a graduate you have the perfect foundation to begin studying for the ACCA Qualification.

If you hold a degree relevant to the accountancy profession from an ACCA-accredited institution you may be exempted from all nine exams within the Fundamentals levels. If you hold a degree which isn’t directly relevant then you still may qualify for some exemptions. In a few short steps you could be studying for the most innovative finance qualification in the world.

The ACCA Qualification is open to everyone. Already in employment and wish to study accountancy later on in your career? No problem. The Mature Student Entry Route (MSER) is open to anyone over the age of 21. No qualifications? We’ve got that covered.

The MSER doesn’t require any academic qualifications. Instead you must pass the equivalent of Papers F2 - Management Accounting and F3 - Financial Accounting within two years. After that, you are eligible to take the rest of the ACCA Qualification and gain professional status

The flexibility of the ACCA Qualification means that it doesn’t limit you to one particular sector. As an ACCA member, you will have the opportunity of working in any sector you choose, be it public practice, public sector, financial services or corporate sector, giving you access to a broad range of complex and interesting roles.
