AAT

The Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) is an established and well-respected professional membership body with over 100,000 students, full and fellow members worldwide.

The AAT's qualification and membership develop relevant and practical accounting and finance skills for life. If you're looking to improve your prospects and earning potential - and to get the rewards you deserve, you've come to the right place.

As an AAT-qualified accounting technician you will have an internationally recognised and respected qualification that shows potential employers that you have been trained to a high standard.

Established in 1980 to provide a recognised professional qualification and membership body for accounting technicians;

The AAT now has over 100,000 student, affiliate, full and fellow members worldwide.
AAT supported and sponsored by CIPFA, ICAEW, CIMA and ICAS.

The AAT is committed to improving standards of competence and professional development in accounting and related areas.
There are many organisations offering Accounting Qualifications. However, the AAT is the only professional membership body to offer an NVQ/SVQ in Accounting (also known as the AAT's Accounting Qualification).
Improve your prospects with a qualification that opens doors.
When you register for an AAT qualification, you will automatically become an AAT student member. As a student member, you can always rely on AAT to provide you with help and support - AAT members tell AAT time and time again, that no one else offers the high level of support and guidance that we do.

The AAT Accounting Qualification is separated into three levels, Foundation, Intermediate and Technician. If you have relevant work experience or qualifications you may want to join at the Intermediate level. The AAT has developed an online Skill check to test your accounting knowledge, and depending on your score, it will guide you towards the appropriate entry level.

The online Skill check consists of 14 questions and should take you less than 30 minutes to complete. It tests the knowledge and understanding you would need to demonstrate when completing the Foundation units "Recording Income and Receipts", "Making and Recording Payments", and "Preparing Ledger Balances and an Initial Trial Balance".

As the Skill check is a self-assessment it does not lead to an award or exemption.

Student can gain exemption from certificate level if they fully understand double entry book keeping up to trial balance. However, Unit 31 must be completed by all students who do not sit certificate level. Student must register with AAT at 00 44 207 837 8600 or visit http://www.aat.org.uk, both for membership and examination entry.

Student completing AAT Diploma level are exempt from ACCA & CIMA foundation level.
